She’s One Month Old

My time is flying. Margo, you are one month old.

How did that happen? I promise you were just born a couple days ago. You have been an absolute dream. You are such a sweet, good natured baby who eats well, sleeps well, and could not be any cuter. Of course, we are biased, but we are constantly saying “you are so pretty” and “you are so sweet” when we talk to you. We can’t help it! We are in awe over our precious baby girl.

I’m not sure how much you weigh, but my guess is around 8 pounds. You don’t have much hair, but it is starting to lighten up. Your eyes are a beautiful shade of blue. You have long fingers and toes and the daintiest little features. A lot of people have told us that you look like a girl version of Preston as a newborn, and we see it too. We can’t wait to see you grow and develop.

You don’t cry much and like to take it all in. You are starting to be awake more during the day, and eat every 2.5 – 3 hours. At night you go in 4 hour stretches. We are not the walking zombies we thought we would be, and are actually getting a fair amount of sleep. You are also a pretty heavy sleeper. Preston can have toys lighting up and going off all around you, with crashing and music playing, and you are OUT. Thank goodness. 😉

You love to gaze into our eyes and watch what’s going on. I think you are entertained by our family and your big brother. 🙂 You love your little lamb seat, pacifier, being swaddled, and you like to sleep on your our chests. I’ve only put you in the swing twice, and you seemed to like it as well.

You are still sleeping right next to me in the bassinet portion of the pack-n-play. It makes for easy nursing at night. I kind of want to move you to your crib, but kind of don’t yet. We’ll see.

We hope and pray that this sweet nature of yours continues and you stay “easy.” I have to say, I am LOVING my maternity leave with you so far. In your first month of life, you’ve made several Target and Kroger runs with me, gone on a hayride, celebrated your first Halloween, been to a football game, met many of your relatives, and enjoyed quality time with your mom. I can’t wait for our relationship to grow, and am so thankful for you, Margo.

What a wonderful month it has been! We love you, Miss Margo!
