We may be back in school, but we are still enjoying the end of summer!
We celebrated cousin Eva’s 4th birthday at the Botanic Gardens. In usual fashion, Preston and Eva were wild together and ran through the splash portion with all of their clothes on. That turned into wading in the mini river. No one had a change of clothes, the kids were soaked, and I’ve never seen them so happy. 🙂 Makes my heart smile! That is what summer is all about when you’re a kid.
We love the Botanic Garden and thanks to Brian’s parents, have a membership there. There is so much to do there! P’s favorite are the tunnels. We also love going over to the other side of the gardens and checking out the huge coy fish. They also have a lot of neat events for kids, although we have yet to partake in one of the extra events. We need to when the weather starts to get a little cooler!
My running continues even through this horrible heat! I am not sure why I chose to run a half marathon in Oct, but I can only hope this is the worst the heat gets and it starts tapering off soon. I ran 8.5 miles on Sunday and actually survived. My goal is truly just to finish! Ready for cooler temps. 🙂
